Common questions
When should an extender be reset?
A factory reset may help when:
- You have forgotten the admin password you set on the device.
- You want to start the configuration over from scratch.
- The device is not behaving as expected after troubleshooting.
- A new router will not connect to the extender.
Most extenders have a small recessed reset button. Use a paperclip to press and hold it for the duration specified in your user manual.
If you need more help
For warranty issues, firmware downloads, or device-specific support, please contact your device manufacturer directly using the official support channels listed on their website or in your product documentation.
General troubleshooting tips that often help: try a wired Ethernet connection, power-cycle both the router and the extender, and confirm your computer is connected to the extender's own network during setup.

Typical setup methods
Method 1: Browser-based setup
- Connect your computer to the extender's default WiFi network (the name is printed on the device label) or use an Ethernet cable.
- Open a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
- Enter the setup address printed on the device label or in your user manual.
- Sign in using the default credentials supplied with your extender — these are also printed on the device or in its documentation.
Method 2: Default IP address
If the web setup address does not load, many extenders also expose a local IP address (commonly something like 192.168.1.250, but it varies). Check your user manual for the correct address for your model.
Method 3: WPS button
- Place the extender within range of your main router.
- Press the WPS button on the extender.
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
- Wait for the LED indicators to stabilize, then connect your devices to the extended network.
Method 4: Wired Ethernet
A wired Ethernet connection between your computer and the extender is often the most reliable way to reach the setup page.
